Vacation is over so why not have an ice and snow storm?

Sue and Rick took a cruise (what's new) last week on a new ship, the the Celebrity Solstice...a great time was had by all. Aside from the martini bar, and visiting the baths at Virgin Gorda, the highlight of the trip was a night rescue by a Coast Guard Helicopter that landed on the bow of the ship to remove a very ill passenger. It was something out of the movies or those documentary shows on TV...very cool. Unfortunately my camera broke on the second day so all we have are some memories.

Here we are the first week back and we get slammed by an ice and snow storm....Al Gore are you paying attention?

We made it to 2009!

Happy New Year! Another quiet night at the Dunning house when we rang in the new year. I consider new years to be amateur night...the real party folks (like I used to be) do it year round. Our University of Cincinnati Bearcat football team played in the Orange Bowl and Matt and his wife Erin went to the game...we lost 20-7 but to get there was fun. Sue and Erins mom Cathy are doing the baby sitting as Owen stayed home to party like a rock star....he may not have been the only Dunning to poop his pants that night...Bill are you listening?

Sue and I are planning for our cruise...it happens to be when Obama gets inaugurated so we are telling people we are leaving the country we are so upset...not true but a good story nonetheless.

Happy New Year!

Christmas 2008

We had a very enjoyable Christmas Eve with the family all attending services at St. Thomas. Before and after we chowed down on the annual "Smorgasbord". Spencer's girlfriend Chrissy joined us this year along with another newcomer...Grandson Owen....a good time was had by all. This morning the entire family came together again at the manse at 107 Miami to open presents and chow down again. Santa was good to everyone, I guess no one was naughty this year...the family got Dad the Wii....along with Wii fit....needless to say that got hooked up quick on the big screen.

We hope everyone had an equally enjoyable Christmas...now on to New Years 2009.....

Here are a few pictures of our Christmas.

We started a Blog!

When your five month old Grandson has a blog and you don't we decided to join the 21st century and make one...of course we may not have anything of value to post or share but that hasn't stopped millions of others from starting one. We will be able to link the blogs of Owen, Kristen, and Lauren Dunning and any other family members who want to share highlights of their lives. Sue will be the one who updates on a regular basis....hopefully instead of playing free cell! Rick will contribute musings on a regular or irregular basis...time will tell.

Join in and post your responses and comments...maybe someone will use these postings as their thesis project two hundred years from now...it could be named "Primitive WASP postings in the post Republican era"....lets not disappoint our future scholar!
